Introduction
We built TileDB to be a trusted research environment, having an access control system and permission layer, advanced logging, and an expansive catalog of objects for public collaboration. It’s the express goal of the TileDB team to create a platform where users can govern and monitor access to all their data in one place, remove information silos, and follow the highest standards of data security and privacy.
Access Control: You always remain in control of your data and can define and manage fine-grained permissions to keep security and control over your data. With TileDB, you can define multiple organizational namespaces for your organization that you can use to share objects in a methodical way. You can also leverage user-defined, federated queries to control access to only specific subsets of a dataset, allowing access while also protecting sensitive information.
Logging: TileDB keeps meticulous logs of all activity on your data to give you an audit trail. You have access to what data was accessed, who accessed it, and how that user accessed it. These logs have critical information on programmatic access, queries, and writes, including statuses, logs, and resource consumption. You also have the ability to monitor the costs associated with queries run against cataloged datasets. Spot errant tasks and queries, and fix them to keep your compute spend as small as possible, saving your organization money.
TileDB Marketplace: To help propel scientific discovery and remove barriers in your research, you have access to a full suite of assets in the TileDB Marketplace. These assets are made publicly available by the wider TileDB community.
Compliance: TileDB adheres to HIPAA guidelines for correct handling of protected health information. It also ensures SOC-II compliance for secured data processing and storage. We keep high security standards through regular audits and compliance checks to ensure TileDB always meets regulatory standards. To request details about our compliance or to request a copy of our SOC-II certificate, you can contact us.
Welcome to a new era of scientific collaboration.
Before you continue exploring TileDB’s collaboration functionality, make sure you read the Get Started section. The Get Started page will guide you through signing up for and creating a TileDB account. It also includes steps on installing the necessary APIs and libraries, in case you want to interface with TileDB programmatically instead of through TileDB’s UI console.
